July 17 Wool Tour!

Our July 17 Wool Tour couldn’t have been better! Twelve Janes set out for a relaxing day of new experiences and fun. Riders found their own paces and chose short or long loops en route to Tamarack Sheep Farm, where owner Jan led a tour of her wool, meat, and produce operation. After a satisfying and delicious lunch provided by Chef Bobbie, we tried our hands at wool felting, which proved to be enlightening, relaxing and lots of fun! Back on the bikes, the group chose to stay together for a short ride to Knitters’ Underground, a funky fiber shop with a great selection. On to Cooke Tavern we went, where owners Mary Kay and Greg graciously welcomed us to their beautiful property and Cooke Tavern Soup operation. Yoga on the barn’s second story porch was unforgettable! What a brilliant trip - every detail accounted for. Even a novice rider like me stayed energized for the entire 27 mile loop.
I assure you that you don’t have to be a knitter to be inspired and educated at every stop. And one can’t say enough about the friendships gained after spending the day together.
If you are unsure of your fitness ability, not sure how keen you are on knitting, slightly fearful of spending the day with strangers - get over it! The Janes make you feel like anything is possible, there are cool things to learn at every turn, and these other cyclists will quickly become friends. Enjoy!

Need a relaxing day to just get away from it all and unwind? Forget going to a spa…this is the day for you! As a stay at home Mom it’s hard to find a whole day to myself and feel relaxed and renewed but going on the wool tour gave me exactly that! It was such an amazing day and I felt so refreshed after it! So many laughs and new things along the way!
